I was delighted to see the news a few weeks ago that Blue Peter has decided to launch a new badge for sport.
The new badge will mark the 50th anniversary of the Blue Peter badge & they hope that it will inspire children to “act out the legacy of London 2012” & increase sport participation.
To be awarded with the badge children must be able to prove that they have been “instrumental” in creating their own legacy in sport.
Unlike other Blue Peter badges this one will only be available for a short period of time, being awarded between July & September this year.
Ewan Vinnicombe, editor of Blue Peter, said:
“It’s the 50th anniversary year for the original Blue Peter badge so I’m delighted that we are launching a new badge to inspire our audience to enjoy sport with their friends……….A brilliant legacy after an amazing year of sport in the UK.”
