National School Sports Week 2014

National School Sport Week takes place this week.

The event was first held in 2008 & since then millions of school children have taken part.

The purpose of National School Sport Week is to promote sports in schools, encourage children to try out new sports & live healthier lifestyles.

This year the theme is about holding your own Games.
After the excitement of the London Olympics in 2012 this theme should help to continue the growing enthusiasm for sport amongst school children.

I hope that as this is the theme that many schools will create their own Opening & Closing Ceremonies.
These ceremonies are also a great way to involve the whole community with the event.

If you have planned to do this we would love to see some of your pictures & with your permission publish them on here as examples of what has been going on.
We would also love to hear how your event went, feel free to share using the comments box below or email us along with your pictures to bobwoolmer01@hotmail.co.uk

We hope that all those taking part have a brilliant week (fingers crossed for glorious weather!) & we look forward to you sharing your pictures & experiences with us.

Have Fun!
